General information about the Krutynia trail, times, programmes and prices of the 2010 rallies

Krutynia - Route Starting point
SORKWITY. You can get there from Olsztyn by bus or train going to Mrągowo. You can get to the camp site from the railway station on foot, it's only 800m. If you are coming by car, you will be brought to Sorkwity from the AS-TOUR's parking space in Krutyn by our van.

Short trail description

Krutynia is one of the most beautiful lowland trails in Europe. It is very varied, goes through the Pisz Forest, and behind the Mokre Lake also through the Masuria Landscape Park. The length of the trail is 102 km, of which 60 km are still waters. You can watch the interesting nature there, sometimes even eagles. You see some red algae, making the stones look like covered with blood. On the shore there are forests with great oaks and pine trees, from which once masts were made. The rally starts in Sorkwity at the Lampackie Lake. You can see an evangelic church built about 1470 and a palace of the Von Mirbach family built 1850-56 here. First you go through the Lampackie and Lampasz Lake and on a shallow part of Krutynia called Sobiepanka to the campsite at the Białe Lake in Bieńki . On further parts of Krutynia you will see great nature and even feel like a castaway. You will go to the nature reserve Królewska Sosna where you will see a 500-year-old oak and the oldest pine tree in the region. The part between Krutyńskie Lake and Ukta is the most beautiful part of the trail, a proof for this are many tourists from abroad in flat boats pushed by local raftsmen. On the way to Ukta you can visit an orthodox monastery in Wojnowo. From Ukta you can go to the Wildlife Park in Kadzidłowo (with over 30 species of Wild animals, such as wolves and deer). After the excursions you can take a rest in a new sauna or a redecorated tavern. The next part of the trail is the Wańkowicz Nature Reserve. And a few days later the adventure must come to an end. In the end we go through the Guzianka sluice and say good-bye in Ruciane - Nida. Everyone who has seen this trail will confirm that it is one of the most interesting and beautiful trails in Europe.
